As you all know we have a lot more work to do here in Glavani Park even though a lot of work is already done. We have changed two oak posts, in place of the original pine posts we have taken the bark off almost all the oak posts we brought back to the park for the New Year and there’s a lot of other work we have started to do.

Cold, windy, hot, cloudy and sunny day with a little of rain. This is true, but we need to work and we are working and…we are having fun at the same time.

Oak posts
Oak posts
We have almost cleaned the bark from all the new oak posts with a little help from our friends who sometimes want to help. Thanks to them, they know who they are!
This is one of the worst jobs in the Park and Darko doesn’t want to do it anymore 🙂 After two months he has said “enough is enough”. We have tried debarking the oak posts with many different tools but the crowbar is always the best. At the same time it feels like the worst tool you can use. You start to feel all the body parts; arms, legs, back, everything hurts. But, in the end, when we look back at them finished, (well almost), we are proud.

Zorb Ball
Zorb Ball
Nevenko has, again, started digging and making the road for the Zorb Ball but only after we cleaned the green carpet of the dirt and the rocks and then moved it over to one side of the hill by sheer brute force -no machine helped us 🙂 . In the meantime Nigel prepared a couple of (15) juniper fence posts that will go down the sides of the Zorb Ball road connected by netting to keep the rolling ball in check! We hope 🙂 . Now we are waiting for Nevenko to finish his job so we can put the carpet back again. The last job will be cleaning the Zorb Ball and testing it.

Other jobs we are doing meanwhile! We need to continue exchanging pine posts for oak posts as necessary (at least 2-3 more before the summer), we also have a lot of oak ready to cut into planks on the saw bench ready for new and replacement platforms, we need to continue constructing the benches and tables for the cafe area and terrace for the Arena, finish the aerotrim, and start building a Remote Control car track. The biggest job still to do is to try and get the Arena area ready enough to have a few bands and concerts for our festival entertainment!!!

Another job we need to do, is to employ a few more students. So we have put a message at the student centre and we have already spoken with a couple of students and more of them will come to the Park to see what the job is about. Hopefully, before 1.6.2015, we will have 5-8 students that want to work here.
